Shorelines
‘Shorelines’ is a practice based research collaboration by Cathy Treadaway and Alison F. Bell. Paintings, prints, photographs and textiles are being developed in order to investigate aspects of creative practice that involve the use of digital imaging technology.
The sea and shoreline has been a recurring source of inspiration for both artists. This project provides a unique opportunity to reflect on these influences through documentary practice-led research and the generation of collaborative artworks.
Treadaway and Bell have undertaken a series of artists’ residencies in coastal locations around the UK as part of the Shorelines project. The residencies have provided inspiration for collaborative art making. Each investigation has been documented using video and photography to study the creative process.
