HAPTIC

The HAPTIC research project is investigating the important connections between hand use and the development of creative thought. By observing and analysing how we use our hands in creative activities it is possible to identify ways in which the digital technology used to support creativity might be improved.

Aspects of creative hand use and issues concerning interface design, health and wellbeing, emotion, perception and physicality are being investigated.

Practice based research is being used to test out and develop new ideas. This research involves the use of a number of digital technologies including 2D and 3D digital printing, laser etching and cutting processes.
